Dear Sir/Madam,

The Igorot Global Organization (IGO), an international association of Igorots/Cordillerans whose members trace roots from the Cordillera Administrative Region, is sponsoring a Cordillera-wide Folklore Documentation Project/Contest (see attached flyer for mechanics).

We are inviting 3rd and 4th year students (Grades 9-10) from your school who will gather folk stories from their communities, to be written in the original vernacular (local language or dialect, mother tongue) and translated into English in collaboration with a teacher. The students may work individually or in two’s or three’s in documenting and writing the story. Participants may submit up to three entries.

The entries can be sent individually to the address below, either through personal delivery, post office mail, email, or courier service (LBC, DHL, etc.). The school can also collect all entries and send these altogether in a single envelope. The entries can be sent anytime up until January 30, 2016. The winners will be informed on February 28, 2016 through text/call, and the awarding of prizes will be done during the Igorot International Consultation (IIC) to be held in Bontoc, Mountain Province on April 8, 2016.

To submit entries, kindly fill out the attached Submission Form (there is no need for cover letters) and enclose the stories (both the original text and its English translation). For queries, please text or call me up at 0921.728.8815, or email me at <gkibiten@ymail.com>.

Thank you very much for partnering with us in our modest effort to record and preserve our Cordillera folklore for future generations.

Truly yours,
